  ALBERTO DIAZ GUTIÉRREZ (Korda)  (1928-1921)

Born in the Cuban capital, he is the author of the most famous picture of Che Guevara, taken by his objective during the burial of the victims of the explosion of the ship La Coubre, in March 1960. The photograph remained unpublished until April 15th, 1961. It was later used, in 1967, after knowing about the assassination of Che. It has been reproduced in giant scale in the facade of the building of the Ministry of Interior, in the Revolution Square. Korda had worked as a publicity photograph before working for the Revolución newspaper, after the triumph of the revolution. He accompanied Fidel Castro during his trip to New York in 1959.”.
