Considered the most significant “decima” reciters of Cuban literature, he uses indistinctly the pseudonyms: Jesús Ribona, Juan Criollo, Martín de la Hoz or Indio Naborí, the latter being the one by which he is most known, just like by his name. He has deserved important decorations like that of Hero of Labor of the Republic of Cuba.
